KFSA was incorporated under the laws of Kansas in 1947. The Association was
organized primarily to provide insurance and auditing services for all types
of cooperatives. The Association is owned and controlled by local cooperatives
in Kansas and Colorado by a common stock investment. A board of five directors
is elected by these cooperatives from specified districts to control and regulate
the Association. In 1966, the auditing service was discontinued as a department
of the Association and this service was assumed under individual ownership to
comply with regulatory requirements.
Since incorporation, insurance and services have been available for cooperatives
and their employees. The Kansas Farmers Service Association offers a full line
of commercial insurance, bonds, and an exclusive professional liability policy for
cooperative directors.
Your Association also offers group life, salary continuation, hospitalization,
deferred compensation, and can assist with 401(k) and Section 125 benefit plans for
your employees.
Other services were added to provide assistance in mergers and consolidations, budgets,
financial planning, bylaws, credit policies, board of directors and stockholders meetings,
tax matters, wage and hour regulations, employment services, safety and health
regulations, pollution control, and other matters that affect the day-to-day operations of
Kansas cooperatives and their members.
