Terry D. Bertholf, Attorney at Law

Terry Bertholf's association with KFSA began in 1974, a year
after he graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law
with a Juris Doctorate degree and was admitted to the Kansas
Bar Association. Over the years, he has represented clients
before Kansas Courts and the U.S. District Court for the District
Court of Kansas.
Bertholf practices cooperative law, providing legal advice and
counsel to KFSA and its affiliated companies, the Kansas
Cooperative Council and local Kansas farmers' cooperative
associations. He focuses on litigation and its avoidance, corporate
law, acquisition and disposition of assets, mergers and consolidations,
and joint ventures and subsidiaries, including limited liability
companies.
His experience with cooperative organization issues includes
structure and governance (including articles of incorporation
and bylaws), management/board/member relations, employment law
practices and policies, and environment and insurance law.
A member of the Reno County, Kansas, and American Bar associations,
Bertholf was born in Kingman, and grew up in Spivey, Kan. He
currently serves as the executive committee chairman for the
National Council of Farmer Cooperatives' Legal Tax and Accounting
Committee, and also is a member of the National Society of
Accountants for Cooperatives, Midwest Chapter.
He and his wife, Linda, have two adult sons who live in Kansas
City, and a grandson. Away from the office, Bertholf enjoys
gardening, traveling and following KU sports.
