S. Andrew Anderson
Field Service Representative

A certified hazardous materials manager, S. Andrew Anderson works as a field service representative for KFSA’s risk management services. In this role, he provides customers with risk management, compliance and safety services. He also helps to develop and expand safety programs that assist in controlling insurance and workers compensation costs.

Anderson worked for Ag Services, LLC, for nine years, and joined KFSA in September 2008. At Ag Services, he assisted local cooperatives in northcentral Kansas with risk management issues, employee safety training, and governmental compliance issues with the DOT, EPA, OSHA and various state agencies.

He grew up on a dryland and dairy farm in northwest Norton County. In 1985, he spent six months in Australia through the Future Farmers of America’s Work Experience Abroad Program. While living on a family farm, Anderson worked in a wool house, shearing and packaging wool, and learned Australian farming methods.

A graduate of Colby Community College, he received a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Kansas State University in 1988. After graduation, he worked the next seven years for Servitech Laboratories as a chemist, first in Dodge City, then in Hastings, Neb.

Anderson also was a feed lab manager for Kansas State University’s Animal Science Department. Here, he oversaw a handful of students, was in charge of coordinating research projects for grad students and professors, and worked with feed companies and corporations.

He has two sons: Lance, a rodeo competitor who attends Fort Scott Community College, and Levi, a freshman at Rock Creek High School who wrestles and plays football. In his spare time, Anderson enjoys hunting, fishing, and watching his sons compete in athletics.
