Mike Schaffter, CIC
Vice President, Insurance Operations

Mike Schaffter has had a long and extensive career with KFSA.
He began working for the agency in 1974. Two years later, he
was named KFSA's safety director, traveling across Kansas to
provide safety services for the agency's customers. Over the
next twenty years, Schaffter would become an integral part of
the insurance department. In 1997, he was named vice president.
Schaffter was born and raised in Hutchinson, Kan., and attended
Hutchinson Community College and Fort Hays State University.
In 2001, he completed the Kansas Grain and Feed Association's
"Tomorrow's Agribusiness Leaders" program.
A Certified Insurance Counselor, Schaffter is a board member for
Ag Services, LLC, Kansas Agribusiness Retailers Association
and Elliott Insurance Management in Hutchinson. He also serves on the
Agri Broker Council for Penn Millers Insurance Company. Locally,
he's a committee member for the United Way of Reno County and Boys
& Girls Club of Hutchinson.
He and his wife, Betty, live in Hutchinson. In his spare time, he
enjoys playing golf, traveling and spending time with his three
daughters and seven grandchildren.
