Mike Schaffter, CIC
Vice President, Agribusiness Insurance

Mike has had a long and extensive career with KFSA, beginning his work for the agency in 1974. Two years later, he was named KFSA's safety director, traveling across Kansas to provide safety services for the agency's customers. Over the next twenty years, Mike would become a fundamental part of the insurance department. In 1997, he was named vice president.

Mike was born and raised in Hutchinson, attending Hutchinson Community College and Fort Hays State University. In 2001, he completed the Kansas Grain and Feed Association's "Tomorrow's Agribusiness Leaders" program, and in 2008 received The Max Sudbeck Standing T.A.L. Award.

A Certified Insurance Counselor, Mike is a board member for Ag Services, LLC, on the Advisory Board of the Kansas Agribusiness Retailers Association, and the Board of Trustees for The Kansas Grain Inspection Service. He also serves on the Agri Broker Council for Penn Millers Insurance Company.

He and his wife, Betty, live in Hutchinson. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, traveling, and spending time with his three daughters and seven grandchildren.
