Joe Allen
Risk Management Area Manager
|
Joe Allen has worked for KFSA's risk management department since
2004, providing solutions to customers' safety and regulatory
challenges. These include regulations from OSHA, EPA, DOT and
state agencies. As a risk management area manager, Allen helps
companies develop and implement safety programs to reduce accidents,
injuries and workers compensation rates. He also supervises five
Ag Services employees.
Before he came to KFSA, Allen spent five years with the Kansas
Department of Agriculture as a pesticide investigator, where he
enforced the State of Kansas and EPA pesticide regulations. He
also has ten years of experience in water quality issues and irrigation
concerns.
Currently, Allen serves on the national education programming committee
for the Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS), and is president
of the Great Plains chapter of the GEAPS. He graduated cum laude from
Kansas State University with a bachelor's degree in agriculture, where
he majored in park and resource management. Allen also is a Class IV
graduate of the Kansas Agriculture and Rural Leadership Program (KARL).
He grew up on a farm in Stafford, Kan., worked on a large irrigated
farm in Stafford County during college, and now is involved in his
father-in-law's small farming operation. He and his wife, Annastasia,
have four small children.
