Diana Nelson was born and raised in Hutchinson and attended Hutchinson Community College. As a freshman, she worked in data entry at the Collingwood Grain offices. Later, she received a bachelor’s degree in communications from Pittsburg State University.

Nelson joined KFSA in the summer of 2008 as a receptionist and accounting administrative assistant. She was formerly the administrative assistant for the executive vice president of Pioneer Balloon Company in Wichita, America’s largest manufacturer of latex and Microfoil balloons. At Kansas Power  and Light in Hutchinson, Nelson served as an accounting clerk. For seven years, she was a receptionist and handled payroll and accounts payable for Prairie Dunes Country Club.

She and her husband, Mark, have a son and twin daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and participating in family activities. A Cub Scout den leader, she has chaired and co-chaired school committees, is a member of the Holy Cross Altar Society and has served as her church’s advertising and PR chairperson.
