Commercial Accounts Manager
|
A commercial accounts manager, Bob Standage writes new
business and takes care of existing insurance accounts.
Standage grew up on a diversified farm in south-central
Nebraska. His family operation involved dairy, cow-calf,
backgrounding, irrigated corn, alfalfa, soybean and wheat
production. He received a bachelor's degree in animal
science and agricultural education at the University of
Nebraska--Lincoln. At Kansas State University in Manhattan,
Standage earned a master's degree in agronomy.
From 1985 to 1998, he worked for the Kansas State University
Cooperative Extension Service. An agriculture county extension
agent, he served Thomas and Hamilton counties. At Hi-Plains
Co-op in Colby, he oversaw the crop production department,
operations, and safety and regulatory compliance, as well as
some insurance functions.
Standage came to KFSA in 2003. He worked in the risk
management department for three years and then joined the
insurance department sales staff. He is a Certified Hazardous
Materials Manager, Certified Tank Inspector (through the Steel
Tank Institute), a National Safety Council Defensive Driver
four-hour course instructor, and a member of the American Society
of Safety Engineers.
In his hometown of Colby, he serves on the Citizens Medical
Center board of trustees and the Sacred Heart Catholic Church
parish council. He also is a project leader for the Abilene
Hustlers 4-H Club.
He and his wife, Krystal, have a son and a daughter. Standage's
personal interests include woodworking, ranching and playing golf.
